Terms of service

These terms apply when you use this website or buy from New Maven. By placing an order you agree to them. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA).

1. About us

This online store is operated by New Maven, based in Rustenburg, North West, South Africa.

Our store runs on Shopify, which processes payments securely.

2. Products and pricing

  • All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.
  • Delivery costs are shown separately at checkout.
  • We make every effort to show products and colours accurately, but slight variations may occur on different screens.
  • If a product is listed at an obviously incorrect price because of an error, we will contact you before processing the order, and you may cancel for a full refund.

3. Promotions and discounts

  • Promotional offers (such as "Buy 2, save 20%", free delivery on 3 or more items, and limited-time bundle deals) apply automatically at checkout while they are running.
  • Limited-time offers end on the date shown on the website.
  • Offers can't be exchanged for cash. Where more than one offer could apply, checkout applies the best available combination.

4. Orders

After you place an order you'll receive an order confirmation email. A contract is formed when we accept your order. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if an item is out of stock or payment fails. If we cancel, we'll refund any amount paid in full.

5. Payment

Payment is taken at checkout through Shopify's secure payment providers. We never see or store your full card details.

6. Delivery

Delivery times and costs are set out in our Shipping policy.

7. Cancellations, returns and warranty

You may cancel within 7 days of receiving your goods under ECTA, and we offer change-of-mind returns within 14 days. Faulty goods are covered for 6 months under the CPA. Full details are in our Refund policy.

8. Using our products

Please follow the instructions that come with each product. Electrical products must be used as directed. We are not responsible for damage caused by misuse, but this does not limit your rights for faulty goods.

9. Privacy

We handle your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). See our Privacy policy.

10. Website use

The content on this website (text, images, logos and design) belongs to New Maven or its licensors and may not be copied without permission. You agree not to misuse the website or attempt to interfere with how it works.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, New Maven is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the website or products. Our total liability for any order is limited to the amount paid for that order. This does not exclude any liability that cannot be excluded under the CPA.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on the website when you place your order applies to that order.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
